Florence Walking Tour
This is a walking tour of the most famous monuments of the city, with an optional visit to the Accademia Museum to see the most famous Florentine masterpiece, Michelangelo’s David. In this museum you will also have the chance to study and observe other famous sculptures by Michelangelo, and gain an insight into the great man’s work and philosophy.

From here we will walk down to visit the huge Duomo of Florence, and your guide will give you a clear explanation of the importance of this religious heart of the city, including the other monuments here, which are the Campanile (Bell Tower) and the Battistero (Baptistery).
We will then travel onwards to the political heart of the city, Piazza della Signoria, winding our way through the little streets and alleys and retracing the footsteps of famous figures from the past such as Dante, Botticelli, Leonardo da Vinci and Brunelleschi, to name only a few.
You will discover why Florence was one of the most important and richest cities of the 1300s, and exactly why the Renaissance began here. In the breathtaking Piazza della Signoria your guide will explain the importance of the statues found here, and you will be amazed to discover that this square is actually an open-air museum, with many original pieces of art.

We will then continue the tour and cross one of the most famous bridges in the world, the Ponte Vecchio. Credit cards at the ready for the jewellery shopping! After admiring the stunning views down the River Arno, we will just about have enough time to take a quick look from the outside at the impressive Pitti Palace, once home of the famous Medici family, former rulers of the city.
Good to know
This tour involves walking through Florence’s historic centre, so comfortable footwear is recommended.
For groups larger than five guests, some museums require the use of audio headsets so everyone can hear the guide clearly. These can be arranged on request.
